Grace Period Update to Cubase Elements 8
Customers activating an older version of Cubase Elements (from version 6), whereas a newer version is already available, receive from Steinberg once (!) a so-called free Grace Period update to activate the current version available to that time. This offer is commonly valid for full versions, education versions, updates and upgrades.
If a newer version is released shortly after activation (usually within a six-week period), you may be entitled to the Grace Period update irrelevant of the current version having been granted at the time of activation.

Please note: Cubase is activated as soon as you have entered your activation code within the eLicenser Control Center (eLCC). Please note that the date of activation is the determining factor — not the date of purchase or the registration date.
How to get your Grace Period update?
Cubase Elements activation between Jan 15 and Apr 6, 2015
- Start the eLicenser Control Center application, found under Start/Programs/ eLicenser on a Windows PC or in the Applications folder of Mac OS X. Click on the "Maintenance" button. Your license will then be replaced by a Cubase Elements 8 license and the Steinberg Grace Period site will be opened.
- Enter your Soft-eLicenser number and click "Check for Grace Period eligibility". Once your eligibility is confirmed, a download link will be displayed.
- Download the Cubase Elements 8 update and start installing.
Cubase Elements activation on Apr 7, 2015, or later
- Start the eLicenser Control Center application, found under Start/Programs/ eLicenser on a Windows PC or in the Applications folder of Mac OS X. Enter your activation code for Cubase Elements. Your Cubase Elements 8 license will automatically be saved and the Steinberg Grace Period site will be opened.
- Enter your Soft-eLicenser number and click "Check for Grace Period eligibility". Once your version eligibility is confirmed, a download link will be displayed.
- Download the Cubase Elements 8 version and start installing.
