Backbone requires the eLicenser Control Center, Steinberg Activation Manager and Steinberg Library Manager for license and content management. Please install these utilities additionally if they are not present on your system, and you want to use the Backbone installer available below.
When installing via the Steinberg Download Assistant, the separate installation of the utilities is not necessary.
BACKBONE APPLICATION INSTALLER
The Application Installer can be used for installing Backbone from scratch as well as for updating existing Backbone installations.

BACKBONE CONTENT
Installation of content
- Download the content. It is cross-platform and can be used on both macOS and Windows.
- The content generally consists of vstsound files. To make them downloadable, the files have been condensed in an ISO disk image.
- Double-click the downloaded ISO disk image. It will be mounted as a virtual volume.
- Double-click on one of the contained vstsound files.
- The Steinberg Library Manager will be started automatically and offers the installation of all vstsound files.
